The Britney Spears promo train keeps chugging along with yet another new full-length track from Spears’ upcoming album, Glory.
“Clumsy” leaked early this morning along with 35 seconds of another Glory track titled, “Just Love Me,” but both were quickly pulled. Now “Clumsy” has been officially released by Spears and Co. and offers a change up from the sultry “Make Me” and the poppy “Private Show.”
Combining a catchy, bluesy beat with an electro-pop tempo, Spears coos, “Call me a fool, call me insane / But don’t call it a day” on the tongue-in-cheek track. While we’re a bit put off by the ‘Chipmunk’ sound effect, it is nice to hear Spears sounding like she’s genuinely having fun in the studio for the sing-along single.
“Clumsy” doesn’t push Spears vocally, but after years of lip syncing in concerts, maybe it’s better for the Las Vegas performer to lean further from the ‘singer’ side and closer to the ‘entertainer’ side of the pop music spectrum.
“Clumsy” is now available on Apple music and when fans pre-order Glory.
Like “Make Me,” Spears also co-wrote “Clumsy,” hitting the studio with songwriter Talay Riley to flesh out the lyrics.
The new song arrives the same week that Spears recorded her iconic music video for “…Baby One More Time” back in 1998. Different pop beat, same abs still killin’ it.

In addition to today’s new track from Glory, news from Spears’ camp also includes an upcoming appearance on Carpool Karaoke with The Late Late Show host James Corden. The episode, which we’re betting includes a stop at a Starbucks drive-thru, will air on August 25, one day before Spears’ ninth studio album Glory drops.
